10A Wireless Smart Switch, Wi-Fi Light Switch Compatible with Alexa & Google Home & SmartThings, FCC Certified, No Hub Required Support DIY Module(2 Pack)

4.2 273 reviews · $12.99

It's listed as a Wi-Fi light switch, but it's a bare relay module meant to be wired into a circuit, and its own ratings don't agree with each other.

Why we'd skip it

  • The title says 10 A, the spec table says 16 A, and a bullet claims 3,500 W at 10 A max. At 120 V, 10 A is 1,200 W, so those figures can't all be true.
  • It isn't a wall switch. It's a DIY module rated for 100 to 240 V that you hide in a box and wire yourself.
  • The bullet meant to describe compatibility says it's "Incompatible with any household appliances."
  • The listing names no safety certification beyond FCC, which covers radio emissions, not electrical safety.

Buyer's guide

Will a Wi-Fi switch work on a 5 GHz network?

Almost every Wi-Fi switch here needs 2.4 GHz. Most routers broadcast both bands under one name, and that usually works. If setup fails, turn on a separate 2.4 GHz network temporarily or stand near the router.

What happens when the internet goes down?

The switch still works as a wall switch. App control and voice control often stop, because many Wi-Fi switches route commands through the maker's cloud. Matter and Apple Home models can keep working locally on your network.

How many Wi-Fi switches can my router handle?

It depends on the router. Many consumer models cope with 30 to 50 devices, and some cheaper ones struggle earlier. If you plan to put a switch in every room, a mesh Wi-Fi system or a hub-based protocol such as Z-Wave, Zigbee, or Thread puts less load on your network.

Do I need a neutral wire?

Most smart switches need one because the electronics stay powered when the light is off. Open the box and look for a bundle of white wires tied together at the back. If it's there, you have a neutral. Older homes, especially those built before the mid-1980s, often don't. If yours doesn't, pick a switch listed as no-neutral.

Will a smart switch work on a 3-way circuit?

Only if it says so. A 3-way circuit controls one light from two switches. Some smart switches handle that on their own and keep the existing switch at the other end. Others need a matching add-on or companion switch, and some only work on single-pole circuits.

Can I install it myself?

If you're comfortable replacing an ordinary switch, the job is similar: power off at the breaker, confirm it's dead with a tester, and match the wires. Check local code, and hire an electrician if the box is crowded, the wiring is aluminum, or you're not sure which wire is which.
